
Madurai:
Madurai is a place where all the people often travel to visit. There are many places to visit at there. Another name called as "Temple City". Madurai is located on the banks of Vaigai River in TamilNadu, a Sothern Indian state. Madurai is the second largest city of TamilNadu. Meenakshi Sundareshwarar Temple sited at the heart of the Madurai town which catch the attention of tourists.
The Vandiyur Mariamman Teppakulam is another main place in Madurai to visit. The main divinity of this temple is Lord Vigneshwara. In the months of January and February annual float festival celebrated in this temple. Thirupparankundram is sited 6kms southwest of Madurai. This place is viewed as one of the six house of Lord Subramaniyam.
The cave temple and a rock cut temple built by the Pandyas in the 8th century. Other places of around Madurai are Munnar, Thekkady Wildlife Sanctuary and Palani hills.
Palamudhirsolai is located above Azhagar Koil in the hills about 4 kms away. It is one of the six important temples for Lord Muruga - Karthikeya. This is a very large and beautiful temple.
This village near Madurai (10 km) is famous for its great temple period Nayak, dedicated to Murugan, in another - for Tamil-Kartikeya, Subrahmanian, and the brother of Ganesh. Backed by an enormous granite barren hill, the temple is visible from afar when you arrive in town.
Palace built 300 years ago is now a museum with a gallery of painting, the personal library of Mahatma Gandhi and an exhibition of local handicrafts.
